Minister Radheshyam urges youth to dream, envision and act for the change

Education, Labour & Employment, Minister, Thokchom Radheshyam, interacting with the youths, encouraged them to have dreams and envision to achieve them for the change that they want to bring in the State. The will to bring the change will bring positive change in the society, he added.

The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the inauguration of the 3-Day Youth Event, Imphal Jamboree – ‘Improving the State of Youth’ under the theme ‘Our Future; Our Responsibility’ organized by the Global Shapers Community, Imphal an initiative of World Economic Forum, at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.  

He said that the change can be attained through educational reformation. The education system needs to give freedom of thought and innovation rather than binding the youth to the norm of memorizing. Therefore, the need of the hour is to inculcate in students and youths the ability of thinking and creativity.

Through a playful experiment with the young minds present at the Youth Event, he explained that in teaching, visual aids are used since seeing accelerates learning. If the youths want to improve the state, he said, the action and activities rendered by the youths should be set as an example for the others to follow in becoming a catalyst for a positive change.

Achievement, Th. Radhehsyam expressed is small part to success. He said when one’s achievement is recognized by the people and the achievement becomes a constructive force towards the society, a means for the wellbeing of the people then it transforms into success. He said that prioritizing problems, proper use of time is important with positive attitude towards the goal is necessary mastering in their field to be successful. Success and unsuccessful, he added is differentiated by a thin line of being capable and inability to do the task one should.

Director, YAS, Armstrong Pame sharing the experiences as a Young Global Leaders at the YGL meet San Francisco, said that the conclave has been organized to inspire the young people to work together, driving dialogue action and change across societies. He said that it is never too late to start again after failure. He added that the youth holds the key to bring a change in the world. He urged the youths present at the event to challenge self and be the transformation rather than to fight amongst each other.

The three day event is comprised of inspirational talk sessions, workshops on vocational skills and start-up pitching competition. To name few eminent speaker of the event includes Nattinee Dora Sae Ho, Managing Director/Founder, Kid Hero, Bhawana Luthra, Executive Director, Leadership For Environment and Development (LEAD), International, Deepjyoti Sonu Brahma, Co-Founder and Director, Farm2Food Foundation, Neichute Doule, CEO Entrepreneur Associates, and many more.

The Minister also launched the Eco Bag a movement to fight against plastic pollution as an initiate of the Global Shapers Community, Imphal Hub
