Youth the driving force of India: Th. Radheshyam

Education, Labour & Employment Minister  Thokchom Radheshyam stated that the driving force for India’s attainment to superpower is the youth of the nation. He said that the most important resource in the world is the human resource and for India 35% of the population are the youths.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration function of the 3-day ‘National Seminar cum Training workshop “Youth & Agenda 2030” at the City Convention, Imphal, organised by the People’s UNESCO Club of Manipur in collaboration with the Confederation of UNESCO Club & Association of India (CUCAI) and Centre for Study of Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy, Manipur University.
Th. Radheshyam said that yesterday with the advancement of modern telecommunication system the world is now a global village. He emphasised that every nation has its own strength and weaknesses and the youth of every nation should be groomed as the world’s future strength. The United Nations, Agenda 2030 has 17 goals to be achieved, and it is important that the methods and means be planned by sharing the knowledge and experiences prioritising the problems and issues by identifying the resources, he added.
Youth is a universal wealth, education and understanding of culture, he said, is therefore important to make the young minds realised the importance of independence and make them aware about the interdependence also. Education’s, he stressed, end product should not be to get a job but is to enable to solve the issues and problem that may rise in future. He said that the youths should be made to involve more in decision making nurturing them to have beautiful minds enriched with creativity learning to become more rational.
The function was attended by the members of CUCAI, dignitaries, delegates from different parts of the country and students.
