2 sustain bullet injury in scuffle at dice game; man with the gun nabbed and thrashed

At least three persons were injured in a scuffled that broke out over dice game playing at Kakwa bazaar under Singjamei Police Station yesterday night. Among the three two were allegedly shot by a person with his license gun and the person with the license gun was assaulted by locals of the surrounding.The incident took place at around 08.30 pm in a crowded dice game on the eve of Ningol Chakouba festival near Kakwa Keithel. According to report an elderly person reportedly asked the dice game to ind up as it was getting late. However, some people reply in a harsh manner to the elderly person. A youth identified as Huidrom Kanta (25) of Kakwa Bazar Huidrom Leikai who was also playing the dice game asked the youths to behave properly. After sometimes, three persons left and came back in a Honda Civic car and started arguing with Kanta which later turned into a big quarrel. One among the three person took out his license gun and fire a shot towards Kanta at his right foot.Hearing the gun shot, locals of Kakwa Bazar gathered at the spot and nabbed one of the three persons identified as Laishram Haridas (36) of Naorem Leikai Liwa Road and thrashed before handing over to Singjamei Police Station. Angered locals burnt the Honda Civic car which was brought by the three persons.After a while one unidentified person came at the same spot who claimed himself to be the owner of the Honda car pointed a gun on the head of Huidrom Tilokchan (38), s/o. (L) Bijoy of Kakwa Bazar Huidrom Leikai asking him the reason for burning the car . As Tilokchand tried to resist the person allegedly fired a shot which injured the right leg of Tilokchand. Locals tried to rounded up the culprit with the gun but escaped unhurt.The two injured were immediately rushed to RIMS hospital for treatment. One among them was discharged after medication. Meanwhile, the person identified as L Haridas, who was nabbed by the local do sustained some injury after the local assaulted him. He is reported to have been undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.
