Registrar of the Manipur University, Shamkishore is an – in-charge with no authority to sanction approval of works related to the University, Prof. N. Ibotombi , a retired controller of Examination is assigned as OSD examination, Prof. RR Pandey a right hand of the VC has been appointed as the Controller of Examination, Dr. Premchand formerly the Director of the EMMRC has been assigned as the OSD EMMRC and is replaced by Prof. S. Jibonkumar . Librarian, Engineer of the University are now kept as in-charge which means that every functioning of the University comes under the full control of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Adaya Prasad Pandey who use to stay at the station for only 10 days a month.
Besides, the VC appointed non-teaching staffs numbering around 30 for various post without following proper guidelines like notification or advertisement for the post.
Now another fear, that may sabotage the career of the students is the formulation of a new rule for examination which said that the university will not provide extra sheets for writing the exam. A 22 page complete answer sheet is all a students have to write for the examination and students who wanted to write more are not allowed to take extra sheet even though he have many more to write. Source from the University authority said that the decision was not taken in consultation with the academic council which showed that it was the direct order of the Vice Chancellor Prof. AP Pandey.
On the other hand, there is also a report that the Vice Chancellor selected a firm based at Lucknow called ITI Limited having its regional head office at Lucknow to supply equipments for all department s of the University. Source said that no tender has been conducted for the supply of equipments.
