Expressing concern over the present upheaval in hill districts demanding to withdraw ILPS Bills, the Secretary of CPI, Manipur Council, Moirangthem Nara Singh has appealed all not to flare up tension in the state.
Speaking to gathering at the 1st foundation day of IPAK (Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak) at Manipur Press Club here today, Nara said, “What we are seeing today in the hill districts of Manipur is unfortunate. In this critical hour, every indigenous community should stand together for the betterment of the state.” In order to bring the state into normalcy none should flare up the issue.
Regarding the reports of Manipur passengers pull out from train by former RJD Member of Parliament, Pappu Yadav, the State Secretary of CPI said that the criminal activities meted out by the “mental person” might escalate the issue while projecting the people of Manipur as anti-Bihari.
He also said that there were no reports of non-Manipuris being attacked by local people in the state.
While appealing all not to opt violent means, Chairman of IPAK, Sapamcha Jadumani said that the issue should be addressed with discourse.
ILPS is for all; the fate of indigenous people of the state is upto the fate of the Bill. So, in order to protect ourselves from the looming threat of extinction, all the ethnic groups should work in unison, Jadumani said.
