Imphal Times celebrates 2nd Foundation Day

The 2nd Foundation Day of Imphal Times is being observed today, the 9th of January 2015. As part of the observation, painting competitions were held at Destitute Children’s Home, Tera Bazar on the 7th and at Kanglatongbi Children’s Home on the 8th of this month. The competitions, which were more of an interaction programme for trhe children saw more than 70 children participating in the two events. It was carried out along the ideology of Imphal Times of helping every section of the society to express their views and to have their say. Speaking to Imphal Times, the officials and caretakers of these homes expressed their gratitude and thanked the team for their efforts to connect and create confidence amongst the less privilege children, while expressing the difficulties they are facing on a daily in their effort to keep these homes running, and providing the necessary amenities for the children.  They also shared their moments of pride and happiness when a few of the children made it through various competitive exams and led meaningful, productive lives which are proving to be a source of inspiration not only for the children but also for those who are looking after the welfare of these children. the children were also presented with simple gifts after the competition. The results of the competitions will be announced on the 11th of this month, along with the result of the third painting competition organised at the office premise today which saw around 30 children from various age groups competing for the top honours.
