ILPS protest continues at various places, 3 injured, 8 picked up

Imphal, May 30: As part of the ongoing protest demonstration demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur, hundreds of students in different parts of the state have carried out protest demonstrations today.
Eight girl students, who were injured and admitted at RIMS following yesterday’s protest at Keishampat Junction where water cannon were used to disperse the student protestors, came out of the hospital and staged silent protest at Moirangkhom near Krishnapremi oil station at around 1 pm.
The students carried out the protest by covering their mouths with black scarves.
Later, a team of Imphal Police personnel picked up the students from the protest site and were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, two student protestors of CC Higher Secondary High School were also detained by police today.
Demanding the release of students, a large number of students of the school today staged protest demonstration in front of the main gate of the institute.  They also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister though DC of Imphal East demanding to convert the three ILPS Bills into Acts and to release the apprehended students without any conditions.
Students of Standard Robarth Hr Sec School, Sika Hr Sec School, Imphal Public School, Dhaneswori Hr Sec School took out a protest rally today at around 11 am shouting slogans and holding placards demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in the state.
The students numbering in hundreds marched from their respective schools from Canchipur towards Kakwa bazaar where state security personnel prevented them from proceeding further.
Under the supervision of Students’ Wing of JCILPS, students of Khurai- Ukhrul road have carried out a protest rally at Khurai Lamlong area.
Three students from Sika Hr Sec School sustained injuries in the ensuing scuffle between the agitating students and the police who have to resort to firing even tear gas shells in an attempt to disperse the crowd. Students from various institutes from Thoubal area also staged protest march. Meanwhile students from 10 colleges in the state (DM Science, Arts, Commerce, MB College, NB College, Liberal College, Standard College, NG College, Oriental College, Manipur College) organised a discussion in which it was unanimously resolved to intensify agitation against the state government and the police if the All-Political Party fail to proceed to Delhi to take the assent of the President on the 3 ILPS related Bills. 
ROAD  BLOCK
In support of the ILPS demand, locals of Thangmeiband, Haobam Marak Keisham Leikai, Sagolband Lukam Leirak, Khurai, Sagolband Langjing Achouba, New Chekon, Sangakpam, Wangkhei, Kongba Ayang Palli, Kongba Nandeibam Leikai, Samurou, Singjamei and Mayai Lambi area blocked roads at their respective areas.
