Imphal, Sept 27:

Armed rebel group Manipur Naga People Front (MNPF) expressed strong condemnation to the killing of Former Zeliangrong Boudi Athuan Abonmai.
In a statement, Thomas Numai, Secretary Publicity of the MNPF, said that such an act of killing without proper trial by the GPRN – NSCN-IM, is a clear revelation of the political immaturity of the party. The killing of a public leader of a specific community by kidnapping is an insult not only to the leader but to the hold community, the statement said and added that killing of valuable people taking advantage of the free movement provided to them by GOI showed that the NSCN-IM has forgotten the issue of Naga Sovereignty.
The MNPF accused the NSCN-IM of intimidating people to elect their choice (candidate) in the Indian election. It said that such killing will not help in gaining Naga Sovereignty and if one believes killing among the people will help in restoring the sovereignty of the region then the time has gone a long time back.
“If the killing of Athuan Abonmei happened in Nagaland then the people there will drive out and burn that camp of the NSCN-IM and these have been seen many times”, the statement said and added that NSCN-IM is no more friend of the Nagaland people and many unwanted incidents have happened due to the hostility of the NSCN-IM.
In Manipur too, if the NSCN-IM continues such act of killing the Nagas of Manipur may not be able tolerate it. The MNPF also said that the extortion of money from Nagaland, Assam, Manipur and Assam is not being used for the Naga nation cause but for the personal use of their leaders, bourgeois and capitalist. This and the alike act of India government is blamed as an agenda of the Indian government. The MNPF said that any revolutionary organization ensued peace talk with the GoI finally diverted their revolutionary goal.
