HSLC result declared: Girls outshine boys, No student from govt. schools listed among the top 25

Imphal, May 24: Results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) was declared today with a devastating blow to the efforts of the State government run schools. Students from government run schools failed to be listed among the top 25 students as according to the result declared today.  This year’s passed percentage is 65.37%, little more than last year’s performance which was 61.52%. The passed percentage of girl candidates is 61.95 and the total boy candidate passed is 68.69%.
A total of 31749 candidates appeared in the HSLC examination among which 15,657 are girls and 16,092 are boys candidates. Total number of girl student passed is 9,070 and the total boy candidate passed is 11,053.
All the top three students are girl students from Catholic run schools.
Sohana Laishram of Nirmalabas School, daughter of Laishram Birendro Singh and RK Praneshwori of Heirangoi Thong Keithel of Imphal West, tops this year’s HSCL examination. She secured a total of 576 marks out of 600. She scored letter marks on Manipuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Higher Mathematics. Another student of Nirmalabas School, Naorem Suzanna Devi, daughter of Naorem Rameshwar Singh and Naorem Ongbi Sumati Devi of Kakching Khunnai Leikai, stood second position. She secured 570 mark out of 600 with letter marks on Manipuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Higher Mathematics. Maibam Vasundhara Devi of Little Flower School, daughter of Maibam Victor Singh and Kshetrimayum Ratna Devi of Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai secured 3rd position. She scored a total of 569 out of 600 with letter mark on Manipuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Higher Mathematics.
Sivaraj Takhelambam of St. Joseph’s School, Sangaiprou, stood 4th position. He secured a total of 568 marks out of 600. H. Ronald Mangang of Catholic School Canchipur stood fifth position by securing a total mark of 567.
Luckyson Ningthoujam of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School Khangabok and Gary Haobam of St. Joseph’s School  stood sixth position together by securing a total of 566 marks.
