The declaration of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026 results by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) today brought moments of celebration and relief to thousands of students and families across the State.
This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 88.74 per cent, with 32,459 students successfully clearing the examination out of 36,579 candidates who appeared.
Private schools once again recorded the highest pass percentage at 92.34 per cent, with 24,903 students passing out of 26,970 candidates. Aided schools registered a pass percentage of 84.15 per cent, while Government schools recorded 77.63 per cent.
The results also showed encouraging performances from regular candidates, who achieved a pass percentage of 88.98 per cent. Female candidates performed almost on par with male students, reflecting steady academic participation among both groups.
Compared to previous years, the overall pass percentage witnessed a slight decline from 91.37 per cent in 2025. However, education observers noted that the results still reflected the resilience and determination of students despite various challenges faced during the academic session.
The latest results also highlighted the continued academic progress made by many schools across the State over the past decade, particularly after disruptions caused during the pandemic years.
As students celebrated their success with teachers, parents and friends, many educational institutions expressed hope that the results would inspire greater focus on improving learning standards and supporting students in Government schools and rural areas.
The declaration of the HSLC results marks an important milestone for thousands of students preparing to enter higher secondary education and pursue future career opportunities.
