Munal Meitei, a distinguished Manipur Forest Service Officer currently serving as Assistant Conservator of Forests, was honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the World Culture and Environmental Protection Commission. The prestigious ceremony took place at the India International Centre on Lodhi Road, New Delhi yesterday.
Hailing from Kakching Mayai Leikai, N. Munal Meitei has established himself as a prolific researcher and writer with over 320 published papers and articles focusing on environmental conservation, forestry, climate change, and global biodiversity. His contributions have garnered significant recognition in academia and reputable journals, solidifying his status as a prominent environmentalist.
A regular contributor to leading newspapers such as Imphal Times, Sangai Express (English edition), Imphal Free Press, Peoples Chronicles, and Morning Bells, N. Munal Meitei has actively promoted awareness on environmental issues through his writings.
