Home Department of the state submitted report on rape case of an eight years old girl by her brother’s friend on 30 August last year to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).Sources said that the report of the rape case was submitted to Preet Verma, Advisor to Chairperson of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Government of India.It is also said that Joint Secretary (Home) had also furnished the action taken report submitted by Police Department Manipur to the Deputy Secretary (Social Welfare), Government of Manipur.The action taken report of police department mentioned that the Case FIR No. 15(9)2013 Sagolmang P.S. u/s 376 IPC and 4/8 POCSO Act, 2012 related with the rape of an eight years old girl from somewhere in Imphal East District at her house on 30th August 2013 has also been charge sheeted vide C.S. N. 1/SMG-PS/2014. Since the case record (relevant documents) of the court of Juvenile Justice Board, Imphal West for trial, the Police Department is now not in a position to give detailed report of the case.
