Imphal, April 16: Students Union of United College Lambung Chandel staged protest demanding to fill up the post of vacant Teachers in the College and to fill the substitutes of 35 transferred teachers from the college.
The Union urged Manipur government to treat students in hill and valley in similar way and said it will not be possible to produce good students without teachers. United College Lambung was established in 18 February 1980 as a private College and got the status of a full fledged College on 1 June 1996, according to student Union of the college. Union informed that so far 35 teachers have been transferred from the college with filling the substitutes. Currently there are only 32 regular teacher and 9 part timers out of 67 needed teachers. The Union had acknowledged concern Department, Education Director regarding the matter, however no reliable response has turned up so far, complained the Union.
