Imphal, June 21:
A team of Narcotic Cell Imphal West under the supervision of OC N-Cell /IW and overall supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh MPS, SP Imphal West arrested two persons while transporting illegal drugs in a cream colour Alto car bearing registration No. MN05A 7549, at around 3.30 pm yesterday.
The report said that the said vehicle was detained at the Canchipur area while coming towards Imphal’s side. On verification, they were identified as 1) Md. Nawaz Sharif (28), s/o Md. Zamalluddin and 2) Md. Anis (28) s/o Md. Ayub both of Haoreibi Makha Leikai PO/PS Lilong, Thoubal Dist. Manipur.
The NAB team recovered 18 soap cases containing Heroin No. 4 powder and 3 packets containing 3,636 nos. of WY tablets from inside the dashboard of the car.
Both were arrested and the seized the suspected Heroin No. 4 , WY tablets, Alto car, and two mobile phones with two Jio SIMs from their possession had been handed over to Singjamei Police Station for further investigation.
