Hearing for TC MLAs postponed on Sept. 17

Assembly to take up cases for MSCP MLAs
Hearing for disqualification case of the Trinamool Congress MLAs has been postponed on September 17 after the respondent MLAs had pleaded for more times to the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. As according to the complaint lodge by MLA Th. Shyamkumar, Kim Gangte and two other office bearers of the All India Trinamool Congress Party for disqualification of MLA Joykishan, MLA, K Sharat, MLA O Lukhoi, MLA Th. Bishojit and MLA I. Ibohalbi, tribunal of the state legislative Assembly had summoned the MLAs today at 10.30 am to give their statement. According to a source from the state legislative Assembly, MLA Joykishan, MLA, K Sharat, MLA O Lukhoi and MLA Th. Bishojit appeared before the tribunal and pleaded to give a month time however speaker of the Legislative Assembly had accepted only 3 weeks time and the next hearing has been postponed on September 17. Complainant MLA Shyamkumar did not show up but sent his lawyer S. Gunabanta Meitei. As for MLA I Ibohalbi he had already anticipated the Assembly Secretariat about his inability to present in the tribunal as he is presently staying abroad.While the four MLAs – Kh. Joykishan, K Sharat, O Lukhoi and Th. Bishojit were pleaded for disqualification by MLA Shyamkumar, Oinam Kabi Singh and Waikhom Ngalentomba Meitei, MLA Dr. I Ibohalbi has been pleaded by former president of AITC, Manipur State Unit, Kim Gangte for disqualification under the Anti Defection Law.Meanwhile, hearing for disqualification case of MSCP MLAs which had merged with the Congress Party is scheduled on September 2 . President of the MSCP, Adim Panmei had lodge complaint pleading to disqualify the MSCP MLAs which had merged to the Congress Party under the Anti-defection Law.
