HC orders total ban of unauthorised stone quarry, sand mining, river pollution in all rivers

High court of Manipur ordered a total ban in respect of unauthorised stone quarry, sand mining, river pollution in all the rivers of the state.

This was ordered by Chief Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, Justice Kh Nobin of Manipur High Court in relation with the PIL filed by Preservation of Thoubal River yesterday.

The order further stated that no one can carry out any activities towards stone quarry, sand mining, river pollution, except in case where a license or lease is granted in accordance with law.

Further Advocate A.Mohendro and Advocate Harichhaya were appointed as amicus curaie to assist the court.
