Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has expressed his condolences on the passing of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren, according to a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Monday.
“Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has condoled the demise of Shibu Soren, veteran parliamentarian and former Union Minister, and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand,” “Remembered as a tireless champion of tribal rights and social justice, Shibu Soren’s contribution to Indian politics leaves an enduring legacy,” it added. The Governor also offered prayers for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.
Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also extended his condolences over the veteran leader’s demise. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Shibu Soren, the visionary leader who founded the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and fought tirelessly for the rights and welfare of tribal communities. His contribution and dedication to public service will always be remembered.”
