While appreciating the state cabinet decision to regularise 418 part time lecturer, All Manipur Government College lecturer Association has urged to provide the same facilities to 38 more guest lecturer who has been rendering equal lecturer association said that 38 guest lecturer are engaging in 28 different government colleges. This guest lecturer were appointed by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Manipur through proper open advertisement and DPC proceeding. The press statement said that, according to a regulation of the University grant Commission (UGC) of 2010, both the part tome lecturer and the guest lecturer were abolished and term as contract employee. And hence, the part tome lecturer and the guest lecturer are in equal status. Since then both this contract basis employee have been utilized since their initial appointment by extending their service term every year. On September 2, 2014, the state cabinet has directed the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) for regularisation of the 418 part time lecturer leaving aside the 38 guest lecturer.The All Manipur Government College guest lecturer appealed the government to proceed the same proceeding for the remaining 38 guest lecturer.
