GP Women College students decry over the unavailability of Meitei Mayek text book

Imphal, Sept 11: Students of GP Women College today stage a sit-in-protest demanding the availability of Meitei Mayek text book for B.A First Semester. Speaking to media persons at the protest site, Babyrose Loitongbam, Student of GP Women College said that it is very disappointing for the students that the meitei mayek text book is yet to be available when the semester is near to end. Babyrose also said that despite assurance by the concern department there is no availability of soft copy at the website www.dlpi.manipur.gov.in till date. There is no point of promoting the language when the concern authority cannot work out to make availability if the Meitei mayek text books either in soft or hard copy, she added. Babyrose appeals the concern department to bring out a positive solution to make the meitei mayek text book available at the earliest and they should be aware of the grievances of more than 500 students of different colleges who are studying meitei mayek. The concern authority who cannot fulfil his duty to make the book available must be booked, Babyrose asserts.
