Govt. offices in Tamei exist for namesake only

Imphal, June 1: In today digital age, Government offices in Tamei Sub Division in Tamenglong district are still in most pathetic condition comparable to the offices of 18 century. Officially around 15 government offices exist in the sub division, but village authority said all the government offices are established for namesake only as none of the office are properly functioning due to either lack of manpower or absence of those responsible officer.
Convenor of JAC for Tamei Area Development (JAC-TAD), NK Job speaking to media persons said that almost all the government offices including Public Works Department (PWD), Veterinary Department, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Employment Exchange Office, Forestry, Deputy Inspector, Education, Sericulture, Gun Licensing Department, Tailoring Training Centre, Dispensary, State Bank of India, Sarva Shiksya Abhiyan (SSA) and Electricity Department seems to have no use to the people as it fails to serve its purposes.
As Tamei being a village dependent to livestock farming and cultivation Veterinary, Horticulture and Agriculture department is considered important government department for the villagers. But as these offices exist with flagstaff sometime it appeared as no use to the common villagers.
Villagers while speaking to media persons urged concern government department to look into the matter.
