The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, chaired a high-level meeting today at the Conference Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal, to assess the progress of ongoing national highway projects in the state. The meeting aimed to expedite infrastructure development and address key challenges hindering timely completion.
During the session, M.S. Deval, Executive Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), presented a detailed status report on various highway projects under construction across Manipur. He highlighted critical bottlenecks, including land acquisition issues, logistical constraints, and security concerns, which have impacted project timelines.
Governor Bhalla directed officials to take immediate corrective measures to resolve these challenges and ensure the projects are completed as per schedule. He emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination among stakeholders, including district administrations and security forces, to facilitate smooth execution.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Principal Secretary (Works), Commissioner (Home), Secretary (Land Resources), Chief Engineer of PWD, and DIG CRPF (Operations). Additionally, Deputy Commissioners of Ukhrul, Noney, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Pherzwal districts joined via video conference.
