In the light of this, strengthening law and order, and acting upon some of the important recommendations made during the DGsP/IGsP Conference 2025 held at Raipur from November 28-30, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Governor of Manipur, presided over a State-Level Conference of the Home and Police Departments at Lok Bhavan today.
During the meeting, Director General of Police, Manipur, Rajiv Singh apprised the Governor of the instructions received from the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister. He mentioned that thrust areas for follow up included counter-terrorism, Left Wing Extremism, disaster management, civil defence, greater utilisation of forensics, safety for women, handling of mass agitations, and repatriation of Indian fugitives.
The DGP also presented the outcome of thematic discussion led by the Prime Minister on ‘Drug-Free India’ and the Union Home Minister on national security.
Governor Bhalla, while reiterating the commitment toward a drug-free society, asked police to enhance surveillance through advanced technologies like drones and AI-based tools, but at the same time to emphasize more hands-on training and capacity building.
The Commissioner attended the conference along with other ranks like ADGPs, IGsP, DIGsP, and Superintendents of Police of all districts.
