Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Thokchom Satyabrata have extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Cheiraoba, the Manipuri New Year festival.
In his message, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla said Cheiraoba marks the beginning of a new year filled with hope, optimism and renewed aspirations. He noted that the festival, rooted in rich cultural traditions, is observed through family gatherings, prayers and customary practices that strengthen unity and social bonds. He expressed hope that the occasion would bring peace, prosperity and happiness while reinforcing harmony and brotherhood.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh stated that Cheiraoba should serve as a catalyst for new beginnings, reflection and unity among the people. He observed that after subdued celebrations in previous years, the state is witnessing a phase of renewed hope and peace. Urging people to rise above challenges, he called for collective efforts towards peace and development, and wished the people progress, prosperity and good health.
Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata, in his message, highlighted the significance of Cheiraoba as a time of renewal and unity. He said the festival reflects the shared identity, culture and traditions of the people of Manipur, and expressed hope that the new year would bring strength, resilience and happiness to every household.
