Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla graced the Armed Forces Veterans’ Day celebration held at the Palace Auditorium of the Manipur State Film Development Society in Imphal.
During the programme, the Governor felicitated distinguished and gallantry award–winning veterans along with Veer Naris in recognition of their exemplary service, courage and lifelong contribution to the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Ajay Kumar Bhalla spoke on the steadfast dedication of the Armed Forces and conveyed the nation’s abiding gratitude to veterans, ex-servicemen and their families. He said Veterans’ Day stands as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in safeguarding India’s sovereignty, unity and democratic values.
The Governor also highlighted the significant role of people from Manipur in India’s military history, lauding their outstanding service in protecting the country’s borders and strengthening national security.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of serving personnel, ex-servicemen and Veer Naris, including initiatives related to healthcare support, pensions, resettlement and skill development.
Member of the Legislative Assembly Thokchom Biswajit Singh, who attended the programme, said the commemoration was held in the august presence of Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Secretary Dr Puneet Kumar Goel and other dignitaries.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary Dr Puneet Kumar Goel, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, senior civil and police officers, senior officers of the Armed Forces and paramilitary forces, along with a large number of veterans and ex-servicemen.
