In his message to the people of the state on the occasion, Governor La Ganesan said, “I take privilege in extending heartiest greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of the 52nd Statehood Day. Shoulder to shoulder with their brethren elsewhere in the country, people of the State have been steadfastly marching towards the destined goals of all-around welfare, happiness, and satiety. This momentous occasion is significant because while we get an opportunity to reminisce about past achievements, we also rededicate ourselves to greater efforts for the times ahead.”
Despite some vicissitudes and constraints, the State has made steady progress toward fulfillment of the identified objectives. Significant increases in literacy, the spread of higher education, and a host of other welfare measures have distinguished the people’s efforts during the past few decades. Every developing society faces problems. Our State is no exception. Our optimism emanates from a strong determination, to overcome the obstacles, which characterises the people’s endeavours.
On this solemn Day, let us reiterate our resolve to reach new milestones in the years ahead.
