A day after assuming office as the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a high-level security meeting at Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Friday to assess the state’s overall security situation. The Governor reviewed the law-and-order framework, with particular attention to sensitive border areas, and discussed measures to enhance public safety.
During the meeting, Governor Bhalla instructed Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh to prioritize the safety and security of citizens. He emphasized the need for proactive coordination between state police and central security forces, urging Army and paramilitary officers to provide their fullest cooperation to ensure peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur, Kuldiep Singh; IGAR (South), Maj Gen Ravroop Singh; and senior officers from the CRPF and BSF. Detailed discussions were held on border security, counterinsurgency measures, and strategies to mitigate violence in vulnerable regions.
Governor Bhalla also stressed the importance of community engagement and confidence-building measures to restore normalcy. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order, assuring that all necessary steps would be taken to address the challenges faced by the state.
The security review marks a decisive start to Governor Bhalla’s tenure, reflecting his focus on addressing the pressing concerns of Manipur’s citizens.
