Government serious to the ongoing agitations against ILP Bills

Imphal, Spet 15: The issues prevailing in the state at the aftermath of the passing of the 3 Government Bills on August 31 has created utmost headache to the state government. Efforts to show that the government has done nothing wrong to hurt the sentiments of the people of the state become a line at which every minister in the Okram Ibobi Singh led government has been reciting at any gathering – be it in public meeting, foundation day functions or press conference.
Today too, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who attended the 64th Foundation Day celebration of the All Manipur Bar Association once more reiterated that the three Bills passed by the state Assembly secretariat is to protect the people of the state and there is no content which will hurt the sentiments of the Hill people .Showing his apprehension to the ongoing agitation at Chrachandpur and some other places, Gaikhangam said that there is solution for every problem, even the world war 1 and world war 2 has to be ended to bring a lasting solution among the various countries of the world. He said such solutions to any crisis were brought after series of consultation by sitting together. And if there cannot be any sitting to discuss the problems how could there be a solution, Gaikhangam added.  
The 64th foundation day celebration of All Manipur Bar Association was held at Cheirap Court complex here at Imphal Today.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the state government has passed the 3 bills for protection and preservation of the identity of the indigenous people of Manipur.
Unfortunately due to misunderstanding and communication gap there arise a strong agitation against the Bills at Churachandpur district resulting the destruction of private properties and some government properties.
“Not only the properties were lost but precious human lives were also lost due to misunderstanding”, Gaikhangam said.
He said that the Bills do not have any article that could override the Hill administration and said that if any such articles are found the government is ready to withdraw.
He further added that the state government had officially invited twice to hold talk to the agitators, but never turn up.
 “I don’t know in which language should I appeal to understand to hold talk, state government appeal again and again to hold talk and find out where are the point in the bills that against the hill people”, Gaikhangam said.
He further added that the people of the Manipuri can’t be separated by provocation of the scoundrel, because all communities are sons and daughters of Manipur.
Gaikhangam also highlighted the role being played by Judiciary to the functioning of the democracy. He said that justice should be delivered on time to every citizen. He also appealed the bar council to organize regular awareness to abolish mob justice which is rampant in our society.
