The novel Coronavirus-affected countries as of on March 4 stands at 78 including China, following the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019, an agency report said. In India, the number of confirm cases of Coronavirus affected people reached 28. So far global death toll from the new Coronavirus epidemic surpassed 3,000.
As of now Manipur still has no confirm case of Coronavirus even though some suspected cases were found. As of now, all tests conducted were negative as per information from the Manipur State Health Directorate.
Neighbouring country Myanmar which was not in the list of the killer virus affected country now reported 9 suspected cases with one positive case.
Report reaching here from inside Myanmar said that 3 suspected cases affected by COVID 19 have been admitted at a Hospital in Yangon. Among them, 2 are Chinese who came from China and one, a tourist from New Zealand.
In addition to this 6 Myanmarese who returned from outside the country were also under quarantined. One reported admitted at Mandalay Hospital after his wife was confirmed affected. Among the 6 Myanmarese who were quarantined, 3 returned from South Korea, 2 from China and 1 from Singapore.
According to an agency report, the first suspected Coronavirus case of a Chinese visitor in Myanmar was reported on 31 January. The visitor arrived in Yangon on a China Southern Airlines flight, from Guangzhou. Out of the remaining 78 passengers the flight carried, only two were allowed to disembark the plane, while the rest 76 were not, reported Anadolu Agency.
Myanmar, however, announced that the suspected case tested negative for the virus.
