A 57 years old lady identified as Moirangthem (O) Manjuri , wife of late M. Ibopishak of Khangabok Awang Bangshibudhon Leikai in Thoubal district died yesterday after she was hit by a vehicle while she was riding on a by-cycle near KM Blooming school at around 5 pm yesterday. The vehicle driver instead of looking after her fled speeding the vehicle. Decrying the hit and run case people of the area convene a meeting at Khangabok KYC ground and form a JAC and threaten to caked indefinite bandh along NH 102 if the police and the district administration fails to provide the driver and the vehicle. Protest cum public meeting held today criticize the district police for not able to identified the vehicle and driver who hit and run the lady despite having CCTV installation at various places particularly at Various police Check post.
