Government Collage Teachers today staged a sit in Protest was held at Manipur College today on the third day. The protest was being held in support of the FEGOCTA’S demands and other related issues of collegiate education.
FEGOCTA began the agitation since September 24 demanding implementation of National Policy of 7th UGC Pay and Regulation,2018. A spokesperson of FEGOCTA said that Manipur does not have an education policy even in the 21st century while the neglect of higher education policy is unfortunate .At present there is loss of trust by the College teachers to the Government which has failed to translate the verbal 3 written assurances given to FEGOCTA into action so far.
FEGOCTA threatened to continue series of agitation till fulfillment of its demands. Sit in protests will be held at M.B.College, Imphal on 31st January and at Y.K College ,Wangjing on 1st February.
