In a political development that has raised concerns across the state, former Lok Sabha MP Dr. T. Meinya has called on the BJP central leadership to appoint a new Chief Minister for Manipur, urging immediate action to resolve the ongoing political crisis.
Speaking at the 7th Foundation Day of the Langjing Achouba Old Age Home, Dr. Meinya expressed that the people of Manipur are in a state of confusion after the BJP central leadership forced the resignation of the Chief Minister without addressing the root causes of the crisis. He emphasized the need for a new leadership to restore the state government and work towards a lasting solution to the issues plaguing the state.
Dr. Meinya also warned that if the center continues to delay the appointment of a new Chief Minister, the BJP could face serious political consequences, with tensions rising between the government and the people of the state. He called on the BJP to take immediate and comprehensive steps to stabilize the situation in Manipur.
The former MP’s statement comes after the resignation of the Chief Minister, which has left many in the state questioning the BJP’s strategy and the future of governance in Manipur. Dr. Meinya’s comments are seen as a direct appeal to the central leadership to act swiftly and decisively to bring stability to the state.
During the event, Dr. Meinya was joined by key figures such as RK Maipaksana, Chief Advisor of the Old Age Home, Dr. RK Nayansana Devi, Former Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board, and local political leaders including Sorokhaibam Sijust, Chairperson of Langjing Achouba Gram Panchayat.
