Fitting tribute paid to Lamjing Meira Robinhood

Fitting tribute was paid today to Sapam Robinhood, who was martyred during the agitation of ILPS demand on this day of 2015, and who was later given the title ‘Lamjing Meira’ at his martyrdom at Awa Ching in Imphal East.
Students and teachers of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School also paid floral tribute to the portrait of Sapam Robinhood at the School premises today.
At Awa Ching – the memorial martyrdom of Lamjing Meira Robinhood, 1000s of people including students youths, members of the civil society organisations well-wishers among others came to pay floral tribute to the memorial site. Volunteers from the Red Cross Society also provided all possible assistance to those who came to pay tribute to the departed soul.
From young to old, braves the drizzling rains in the morning to climb to the memorial site.
Rituals were performed by the indigenous priest before paying tribute.
Later the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System convened a meeting at the memorial complex and discussed the present regulation of the Inner line permit system being enforced in the state of Manipur.
Convenor of JCIPS, Phulindro Konsam, RK Bino (Women Wing ), and Consultants – Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, Ito Tongbram, Khongdram Ratan, Thiyam Bharat Singh Singh, and SK Wajid Shah, President Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation graced the meeting as dignitaries.
