Fish Fingerlings distributed to farmers of Chandel and Tengnoupal

A fish fingerling distribution programme for fish farmers of Chandel and Tengnoupal districts was held today at the District Level Fish Seed Farm, Kapam, Chandel under the initiative of the District Fishery Officer, Chandel.
Speaking on the occasion, District Fishery Officer of Chandel and Tengnoupal, Angom Momo stated that the programme was organised to support fish farmers of the two districts by providing different varieties of fish fingerlings at subsidised rates.
A farmer who attended the programme expressed satisfaction over the initiative taken up by the District Fishery Office, Chandel in providing fish fingerlings at reduced rates. The farmer also appealed to the department to further reduce the rates in the coming season.
Around 50 fish farmers from different villages of Chandel and Tengnoupal districts participated in the programme, during which 30,000 fish fingerlings of different varieties were distributed at subsidised rates.
