Festival of Diva Raas and Nitya Raas concludes

Two day festival of Diva Raas and Nitya Raas which begins on January 28 at Aribam Mandop, Lamboikhongnangkhong, U.K Road, Imphal concluded yesterday. On the inaugural function two Sangeet Natak Academy awardee K. Sanatomba Sharma and N. Amusana Devi were also felicitated. K. Sanatomba was honoured with the prestigious award in martial arts while N. Amusana devi was honoured with the award for her excellent contribution in Manipuri dance. 
Padmashree S. Thanil Singh (Retd.Pradhan Guru, JNMDA), Padmashree Ksh. Thouranishabi Devi (Visiting Guru Raas, JNMDA) and T. Tiken Singh (Director, PAL, Member NEZCC, Dimapur) attended the inaugural function as Chief guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.
The two day festival was organized to promote the different Manipuri performing arts NityaRaas and Diva Raas.
Other Manipuri performing artswhich still get the world attention and performed each year at Govindaji Temple are Basanta Raas, Kunja Raas and Maha Raas.
