Fencing and drainage works at press colony handed over to AMWJU

Fencing and drainage works constructed at the Press Colony, Lamphel, under the Local Area Development Fund of Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Akoijam Bimol have been completed and formally handed over on Thursday.
The handing-over ceremony was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, who handed over the completed works to Asem Bhakta, President of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU). The project was executed by the District Rural Development Agency, Imphal district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said he looked forward to working closely with the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union in the coming days and expressed hope for continued cooperation in future initiatives.
The event was attended by Kh. Khogendra, President of the Editors’ Guild Manipur; Yumnam Rupachandra, Secretary of the Editors’ Guild Manipur; Naoba Khwairakpam, Secretary of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union; senior journalist Irengbam Arun; R. K. Nimai, retired IAS and Advisor to the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union; and Sonia, Vice President of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union, among others.
