Of the five candidates in the fray for Hiyanglam by-election, INC candidate Elangbam Dwijamani Singh is the richest and holds the highest academic degree. According to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India, Dwijamani obtained Master Degree in Physics from Agra University in the year 1981. The affidavit says that he had a sum of Rupees 1,18,000/- cash in hand, movable assets of around rupees 8 lakhs and immovable assets of around rupees 49 lakhs. He also have around rupees three lakhs in his bank account.Next comes AITC candidate Dr. Radheshyam. He passed the MBBS from RIMS in 1979. He had a total of rupees 2,85,000/- cash in hand, movable asset of around 7.55 lakhs and immovable asset worth around rupees 20 lakhs.BJP candidate Maibam Dhanbir Singh is a graduate from Maghdha University Bodhagaya and his affidavit stated that he have a total of rupees 50,000 cash in hand, movable assets worth around rupees 3 lakhs and immovable assets of around rupees 16 lakhs.MSCP candidate Laiba stated that he have a total of rupees 80000 cash in hand and did not have any immovable or movable property and he is under matric.MPP candidate M Amutombi declares to have a sum of rupees 50000 cash in hand , around 7 lakhs worth immovable asset.
