Ex-mayor IMC clarifies over vehicle auction

Imphal, August 8: Former Mayor of Imphal Municipal Council (IMC has clarify that he was not involved in the auctioning of IMC vehicles as he was already retired from the Mayor post before the auction notice was issued.
Speaking to the media persons at the office of the Opposition leader office, S Sunil, Ex-Mayor of IMC said that the auction process was part of the resolution taken by the house on October 25, 2016 which was put up by 27 ministers.
The notice approval for the auctioning was given on May 22, 2017 as per following the norms of the resolutions before he resign from his mayor post on May 26, 2017, he added.
Sunil also said that after he resigns, the authorities of IMC issued the notice of the auctioning on May 29, 2017.
After file processing procedure, current commissioner gave the approval of the auctioning on June 21, 2017 and also on July 3, 2017.
It is stun to see the claims of the current IMC government published on locals daily’s that he issued a tender notice on May 22 and tender it on May 29, 2017, he added.
