Education Minister launches MOODLE Learning system for Colleges

Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh has launched the MOODLE Learning Management System for the Government and Government Aided colleges of Manipur today.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the launching ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Education (U), Rajen said that the new initiative will help the college students of the state a lot during this pandemic hour. He said that MOODLE Learning Management System is a unique online education system of the latest version which is simpler than other systems of learning.
He said that education is a sector that we all need to promote and boost up with priority. Education at the school level is seen more focussed in comparison with higher education. The education department has geared up to secure NAAC scores by the colleges of the state. Commissioner, Director, and officials of Higher Education have been relentlessly working to promote education in the state, higher education in particular.
Minister maintained that teaching is one of the noblest professions. Those who are in the teaching profession should serve with dedication. Teachers play the role of shaping society by imparting knowledge and skills to the students. They are honoured every year on September 5 for their dedicated service and responsibilities. If the education system fails the whole generation will be lost, he added.
Minister appealed to all to cooperate with the government initiatives to promote education in the state. Obstructions and agitations by students’ and teachers’ organisations is hampering the teaching and learning processes of the schools and colleges. Such unwanted activities should be stopped, he added.
Regarding the shortage of staff in government colleges, Rajen said that the government will be conducting a recruitment drive very soon to fill up the vacancies in the state.
Commissioner, Hr. and Tech. Education, M. Harekrishna, IAS, Director, Education(U) Dr. Rangitabali Waikhom, IAS, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University, Dr. Sanatombi and V.C. of Dhanamanjuri University, Prof. Rajmohon, and others also attended the launching ceremony.
