Ukhrul, October 11:
A drone bombing attack reportedly struck Mt. Horeb Camp of Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) early today morning, with around 60 bombs allegedly exploding over a two-hour period, causing destruction to parts of the camp but leaving no reported casualties.
According to a statement issued by the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb, the attack began at approximately 2:30 am on October 11 and continued until around 4:30 am.
Describing the incident as a terrifying experience, the Provisional Government said the ground shook as explosions rocked the area, with some bombs detonating mid-air, others exploding in trees, and several reportedly striking the camp directly along with the drones.
“It was a divine intervention that no one was hurt,” the statement said, expressing relief that nobody was reportedly injured despite the intensity of the bombing.
The Provisional Government stated that parts of the camp had been destroyed in the attack. The reported scale and duration of the bombardment have raised serious concerns over the security situation and the potential risks posed to people in the surrounding area.
In a significant allegation, the Provisional Government suggested that the attack could be part of what it described as “India waging a proxy war,” while stressing that the circumstances surrounding the incident required investigation.
The allegation has not been independently verified, and no official response from the Government of India was available at the time of filing this report. The identity of those responsible for the reported drone attack also remains unconfirmed.
The Provisional Government has appealed to the people of Nagalim to offer prayers following the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, no casualties had been reported, although parts of Mt. Horeb Camp were said to have sustained damage.
Further details regarding the extent of the destruction, the origin of the drones and the circumstances surrounding the attack are awaited.
