Driver of hit and run case arrested

Imphal, May 17: Thoubal police have yesterday successfully recovered the car that was involved in a hit and run case at Thoubal Babu Bazar in the night of May 15 in which a 50-year old woman sustained serious head injuries. According to sources, the police investigating the case traced the absconding Maruti Alto car driver to Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai and recovered the vehicle after arresting him. He was identified him as Gurumayum Milton Sharma, son of Indramohan. Sources claimed that Milton who was returning to Imphal fled the scene along the same direction after knocking down Huidrom Radhe, wife of Samungou of Kiyam Amurijam at around 7.25 pm. Radhe is undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity, where she was shifted after initially receiving medical treatment at Thoubal District Hospital.
