The District Magistrate (DM) of Imphal West in Manipur has specifically sought the requisition of the services of Assam Rifles in two areas: Khongnag Ani Karak to Lilashing Khongnangkhong up to North AOC, and Krishna Premi Oil Pump to Secretariat up to Singjamei Chinga Crossing. This deployment is scheduled from 09:00 AM on 29/02/2024 until 05/03/2024 to assist civil authorities in maintaining peace and restoring confidence among the residents of Imphal West District. The notification issued by the office of the District Magistrate cites serious breaches of law and order, including incidents of mob violence, prompting the request for assistance from central forces.
For Bishnupur district, authorities have requested one column of 5/9 GR under HQ, 9 Sector IGAR (S) to assist the district police at Nambol Police gate from February 29 until the conclusion of the Assembly session.
Similarly, the Churachandpur district has called for the requisition of Assam Rifles in Churachandpur town and adjoining areas to support civil authorities in maintaining peace.
