District Administration Kangpokpi inspect illegal constructions along National Highways

In a decisive move to tackle the issue of illegal constructions and rampant encroachments along National Highway 2, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari IAS has taken strict action against all unauthorized structures within the jurisdiction of Kangpokpi District. With the guidance and leadership of the DC, a joint inspection effort has been initiated by the ADM, SDO, SDC, officials from NHIDCL, SH-ADC staff, and the police to identify and crackdown on illegal encroachments, accommodations, and tin sheds that were built without proper approvals. The District Administration has set a deadline of 3rd September for these structures to self-demolish by the owner. Failure to comply before this date will result in eviction, demolition, and removal of such structures, items, and debris by the Administration itself. In line with this effort, a survey inspection was carried out today at various areas including Kangpokpi town, T Khullen, Yaikongpao and Daili.
The directive issued by the Administration comes as a response to reports from NHIDCL field officer stating instances of unauthorised occupancy through construction of structures such as house extensions, shops, and sheds within the jurisdiction of Kangpokpi. In light of these concerns, the Administration has already issued a notice regarding the eviction drive on the 13th of this month. This directive serves as a reminder to individuals occupying these structures without proper authorization to vacate the area and avoid further inconvenience to the public. The Administration is taking necessary steps to ensure the safety and convenience of the community and urges everyone to cooperate with the eviction drive for the betterment of all.
The inspection drive was carried out in the presence of N. Shokngam Baite, ADM, MCS; James Doujapao, MCS, SH-ADC, Lamminlal Simte, MCS, SDO Champhai; SDC, NHIDCL Officials and State police.
