Director, JNIMS, Imphal has rejected certain social media posts that have claimed that a 60-year old person died due to Covid19. He confirmed that the person was cured of Covid19 and his Covid19 report had come negative. The person later died of other causes, he confirmed.
People are advised to be cautious while sharing such misinformation on social media as it leads to demoralization and confusion in society. Always verify authentic information related to the pandemic and government orders related to COVID management that are issued from time to time. Media persons are also advised to cross-check facts with COVID Control Room or any other relevant authority before using information circulating on social media.
