Dir. Vety. appeals Horse and Pony owners not to loose them at Imphal city streets

Directorate of Veterinary & A.H. Services of the Government of Manipur has appealed to owners of Pony Colt and horse to lose them to their respective sheds or compound to avoid inconveniences created to the people of the state. It may be mentioned that many Pony is seen loitering in the middle of the road here in Imphal city creating traffic congestion at many of the places.
In an appeal by the Director of Vety. & Animals Husbandry Services, Govt. of Manipur, it is stated that the number of livestock especially horse and ponies colt let loose by their owners and thereby straying on the roads of Imphal city are not only nuisance causing inconveniences to the public but also have been a cause of several motor accidents leading to even loss of life.
The order appealed to the owners of horse and ponies colt, who have facilities or no proper facilities to take care of their animals to avail facilities provided by the Government of Manipur located at Marjing Pony Complex at Pangei, Imphal East Manipur.
Further, the Director, Vety & A. H. Services, Ch. Nandakishore informed the owners of the ponies and horses that loose of the livestock especially horses and ponies on the streets is not only a penal offense liable to be prosecuted under the Indian Penal Code, 1973 but also under the provisions of the Cattle-Trespass Act, 1871.
