L Dhananjoy Singh, forester, Thoubal Forest Division bagged one gold medal in the Men’s Sr. Veteran Free Style and one Bronze in the Men’s Veteran free style in Swimming Event to open the account of Manipur in the ongoing five days 25th All India Forest Sports Meet, 2020 which got underway since yesterday at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
A total of 45 players from forest department representing Manipur are participating in the tournament while 2500 players from across the 28 States and seven Union Territories are participating in the event.
The tournament will be held in different disciplines which include athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, billiards, snooker, carrom, chess, cricket, cycling, football, golf, hockey, kabbadi, lawn tennis, shooting, squash, swimming etc.
Naveen Patnalk Chief Minister Odisha, Bikram Keshari Arukha Minister Forest & Environment and Parliamentary Affairs Govt. of Odisha and Tusharkanti Behera Minister Sports & Youth Affairs and Electronic & IT Govt. of Odisha were present during the opening function of the sports meet as chief Presidium members respectively.
