Demanding 19 months pending pay MUC faculties kick starts indefinite protest

Guest faculties of the Manipur University for Culture (MUC) today staged protest at the MUC extension campus at Canchipur demanding clearance of the pending remuneration/pay for 9 (Nine) Months.
President of the Manipur University Guest Faculty Association Gopiramani Sharma, who taught Shankritan at the University said that even though the government didn’t pay the remuneration for such long periods, the guest faculties have been teaching till the last few days in view of the students.
“We would like to continue teaching our students but as we can’t survive without money that we are entitled to, we finally decided to stage protest”, Gopiramani said.
“We will continue the protest until the government cleared our pending dues”, he said.
The Manipur University for Culture has 49 guest faculties at present.
