Imphal, Aug 19:

The Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council (WKZIC) while condemning the killing of 3 villagers at Sipijang village situated near Thowai Kuki Village in Ukhrul District has pointed fingers to Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lop (KYKL) and Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) as perpetrators of the attack.
“While some ray of peace is slowly returning to this strife-torn state, incidents of this kind will further aggravate the already worsen state attains its worst. The WKZIC is all the more pained beyond expression to see the involvement of Naga Militant group, MNRF in the attack. In this regard, this council would like to appeal all concern Naga civil society organisations to approach the MNRF leadership for understanding that their involvement in such crime against the Kuki-Zo Christians can only bring regret in days to come,” a statement by the Lk. Minthang, Secretary, Information & Publicity of WKZIC said.
The statement also expressed surprise over the involvement of NSCN(IM) in supplying weapons to Meitei militants and the MNRF attacking the hapless villagers of Sipijang village in Ukhrul district on this day the 18th August 2023 along with the Meitei banned terrorist organisation called Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and doubted the neo-brotherhood of the Meitei-Tangkhul only to annihilate and exterminate the Kuki-Zo community from their land.
It appealed the United Naga Council (UNC) Manipur and the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) to sit together and find out the ways and means to stop this unwanted and diabolic plan of the Meitei people to destroy our sacred and aged old brotherhood as Christians and tribals as the old proverb says “A stitch in time saves nine”.
