City Police, Imphal today detained several curfew violators at Khwairamband Keithel for a few hours before allowing them to return home after issuing warnings.
The curfew was imposed by the Imphal West district administration following the April 7 Tronglaobi incident, which triggered widespread public outrage over the death of two minors.
The police made the violators stand at the market area for some time as a corrective measure. They were later released with instructions to strictly adhere to curfew guidelines and remain indoors.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the restrictions to maintain law and order during the ongoing sensitive situation.
