Tamenglong, Feb 19:
A team led by Kc. Savio Gangmei, President of the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM), along with representatives from various civil society organizations, conducted a site visit today to assess the progress of the Power Grid Sub-Station under construction at Inrailong/Khangchiuluan Village in Tamenglong district.
The visiting team included members from RNCM, Tamenglong Luangrian, RNYOM Tamenglong Luangrian, Village Authority Chairman Council (VACC), and the Chairman and Secretary Association Tamenglong (CSAT). Their primary objective was to evaluate the ongoing work and raise concerns over the timely completion of the project.
During the inspection, the team observed significant progress but noted concerns regarding the pace of work. They urged authorities and contractors to ensure that the project meets its scheduled deadline, emphasizing the urgent need for a reliable power supply in the region.
“We understand that the project involves complex planning and execution,” said Kc. Savio Gangmei. “However, we call upon the concerned authorities to expedite the work and ensure timely completion.”
The CSOs also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the project’s implementation, asserting that the community has the right to be informed about its progress and any challenges faced.
