CRPF Officer from Manipur killed in lightning strike during Anti-Naxal Operation in Jharkhand

A CRPF officer from Manipur was killed and four others, including another CRPF officer and two Jharkhand Police personnel, were injured after lightning struck a security outpost during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, officials said on Friday.
The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Thursday at Keriburu village amid heavy rainfall in the forested region. The deceased officer has been identified as M Prabo Singh, 46, a second-in-command of the CRPF’s 26th Battalion. Singh, a resident of Imphal West district in Manipur, died on the spot.
Assistant Commandant Subir Kumar Mandal, 49, hailing from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital in Noamundi. Two personnel from the Jharkhand Police also suffered injuries in the incident.
